All you need is a new passport id card.

A visit to Romania isn’t complete without seeing some castles and fortresses. As inspiration for novels like Bram Stoker’s Dracula and The Castle in the Carpathians by Jules Verne, these giant fortresses have been taking people’s breath for generations. Of course, it’s hard to think about Romania without thinking about it’s famous history surrounding the famous Bran Castle, or the setting of Stoker’s Count Dracula. Perched high on a 200-foot rock cliff, it overlooks the town of Bran with an eerie mystery. Biertan Fortified Church, one of Romania’s World Heritage Sites, is a monstrous stronghold surrounded by beautiful floral scenery and landscapes.
Spend some time in Romania’s Medieval towns. People first established villages and towns in Romania as early as the 12th century, and one of these villages is Brasov. This village is surrounded by the towering Carpathian Mountains, and features some of the most stunning architecture seen anywhere. The famous St. Nicholas Church and the Black Church are both located in this village, the latter of which is the biggest Gothic church east of Vienna. Sibiu is another old town. This location holds so much personality, with its vibrantly colored homes and cobblestone streets, providing a refreshing break from the monotonous.
UNESCO has distinguished 25 World Heritage Sites in Romania. Seeing these sites for yourself is an excellent way to discover just what makes these locations so important. The fortified churches of Transylvania comprise one of these sites. When the surrounding villages were being attacked, huge masses of people sought safety in these churches, which effectively protected them. The Monastery of Horezu is a religious building that contains giant wall murals, frescoes, and statues exhibiting great artistic expertise. The Painted Monasteries of Bucovina are grand buildings covered from floor to ceiling with frescoes showing the lives of saints and the stories of the Bible. The natural scenery of the surrounding landscape only enhances the experience of seeing this living masterpiece.
You will feel like you stepped into a time machine when visiting Romania. If it’s climbing through a giant castle or seeing the natural splendor of the country, this vacation will result in memories that will be remembered forever. Go online to get your United States passport id card and take the first step to getting your adventure started. Getting a U S child passport fast or just finding answers to your passport questions is easy on these sites, and with their help, you’ll be on your way sooner than you can say, “Dracula.”
