Hawaii, read from the ancient Hawaiian terminology should mean paradise, because that’s what it is. The sun always shines in Hawaii, and the climate is unchanging all-year round with only minor temperature changes. The wet season is in January, but it isn’t so wet that it deters tourists. Oahu vacation rentals make for the perfect getaway for Californians because it is only about a three hour flight.
Hawaii makes for a great family vacation because of the wide variety of activities or no activity at all (if laying on a perfect sandy beach is your thing). Such as swimming or surfboarding on one of Hawaii’s impressive beaches. On the island of Ohau, the family-orientated beach of Wakiki is situated. There is a great family ambience in the long and shallow waves. Because Honolulu is a big city, you can even find fast food to fulfill those starved youngsters.
The actual memorial is atop the sunken vessel. Once you get off the ferry, you can walk back to the wall that lists the name of every person that died that dreaded day in December.
The Sea Life park, Honolulu zoo, and Wakiki Aquarium are also based on Ohau. The park has a 300,000 gallon tank, where you can see sharks, rays and thousands of reef fish. You can even swim with the dolphins here.
The biggest tropical aquarium in the United States can be found in the Maui Ocean Center in Maui. Here you can find high-rise resorts aplenty. Kihei’s beach might be a lot calmer and friendlier to children.
Visit Kaua’i or the big island of Hawaii, or even the North Shore of Ohau for Oahu vacation rentals and some horseback riding. The whole family is sure to have fun in any one of the luaus found on any of the Hawaiian islands. Regardless of age, youngsters are certain to be wonder-struck by the beautiful Polynesian dancers and fire eaters. Whatever your idea of family fun, Hawaii is sure to delight.
