Hvar is an island on the Adriatic Sea off the Croatian coast, located between split map and Dubrovnik.

The history of Hvar can be ascribed to the prehistoric period, what is proven by troves found in the two most famous caves on the island. The caves: “Markova Cave” and “Grap?eva Cave”. There were evidences supplied for a life on the island 6000 years ago. Strange discoveries of colored pottery speak for Hvar’s unique culture from the period around 3500 to 2500 BC. The oldest discovery in Europe, was found in the cave Grapceva. It is the fragment of a ceramic vase on which the effigy of a ship was shown.
Arrival
